Diana Sinclair is an artist and designer working in the New York metropolitan area. Her practice moves across visual art, fashion, sound, and creative production, exploring how memory, identity, and cultural histories are carried forward, transformed, and reinterpreted over time.

Sinclair first emerged through photography and moving image, developing a visual art practice concerned with the histories, movement, and cultural memory of Black communities across the Caribbean, the Americas, and the wider African diaspora. Her work has since expanded across cyanotype, sculpture, installation, photography, and film, with water recurring as both subject and material. Drawing from historical research, personal memory, spirituality, Afrosurrealism, and Caribbean visual traditions, she examines ideas of displacement, belonging, inheritance, and the longstanding relationship between Black communities and water.

That same way of thinking extends into her work as a designer. Across fashion, image-making, creative direction, and production, Sinclair translates research and cultural reference into visual systems and experiences. She is particularly interested in how a single idea can move between mediums—taking form through image, film, sound, space, or experience. Her developing sound practice extends this language through electronic music, approaching rhythm, sequencing, and atmosphere as creative materials in their own right.

A 2021 YoungArts National Finalist in Photography, Sinclair presented her first solo exhibition, Phases, at Christie’s New York in 2022 as the inaugural presentation of Christie’s 3.0. Her commissioned public installation Reflections was presented at Rockefeller Center from 2023 to 2024, followed by a year-long residency with Silver Art Projects at the World Trade Center. In 2025, she presented Threaded Blue with PLATO Gallery in New York, continuing her investigation of water, cultural memory, and the histories embedded within material and image.

Sinclair has been represented by United Talent Agency since 2022. Across disciplines, her practice is driven by an interest in how ideas take form, and in building a contemporary visual language from histories, references, and experiences that move between art, design, music, and culture.
